Shop with a Sheriff is a collabortive effort between the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and Fayette County Schools. Children whose prospect for a joyful Christmas is dimmed by their family’s personal circumstances are identified by school counsellors. We help as many of these children as possible based on the amount of donations we receive. Participating children shop with a Deputy Sheriff at a local store and receive items they both need and want for Christmas. The children often have to be encouraged to shop for themselves as they are busy selecting gifts for their siblings and parents.

Shop with a Sheriff, Inc. is an incorporated 501(c)3 non-profit, therefore all donations are tax deductible.

2010 Update: The 2010 Shop with a Sheriff shopping spree took place Saturday, December 18th at the Fayetteville WalMart. Over $15,000 in donations from the community allowed deputies to take 39 needy children and their families shopping for coats, shoes, various clothing items and some nice toys.

In its four years, Shop with a Sheriff has purchased more than $35,000 worth of needed items and toys for Fayette County children.
