Starting July 1st, 2012, Secondary Metals Recyclers in Fayette County who purchase regulated metal property must register annually with the Fayette County Sheriff's Office.
This new law requires each sheriff's office in the state to register secondary metal recycling businesses in the county, keep a record of each registration and enter the registration into a statewide data base which is searchable by all law enforcement agencies.
Businesses and individuals may obtain a copy of the Secondary Metals Recycler Registration form (PDF) by downloading it, or by visiting the: Fayette County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division 155 Johnson Avenue Fayetteville, GA 30214
